TikTok You is the name widely used for an unofficial modified TikTok client for Android. It is not released by ByteDance and is not on Google Play or the App Store. The main reasons people look for it are region/country switching, access to feeds and features tied to other markets, and options the standard app limits by location.
This guide covers how region works, official controls, what modified builds claim, and the risks. It does not host or link to any modified APK. Install the real TikTok only from the official stores.

How TikTok sets account region
TikTok’s help documentation states that location signals such as SIM/network region and IP address help determine the country or region on the account. There is no permanent open country picker for every account.
When the control is available:
- App: Profile → ☰ → Settings and privacy → Account → User information → Account region
- Web: profile photo → Settings → Manage account → Account region
Eligibility can include activity in the target country, age rules, settled rewards, and a current app version. A short VPN session changes the IP for that session; it rarely rewrites the stored account region used for payouts and some feature gates. Longer consistent local signals are the pattern associated with official updates.

- LIVE, Shop and some creator tools
- Monetization programs (Creator Rewards and similar) – country lists live on TikTok Creator Academy
